HOW DO I BOOK FOR MY WEDDING?

 

For wedding and events, please submit an enquiry form on the contact page of our website. This way we have all the details of the booking we need so we can personalize a proposal best suited to your specific needs. 

HOW DO I BOOK IN FOR A MAKEUP APPOINTMENT AT TONIC STUDIO?

 

Visit our studio page and book yourself an appointment online. If the date or time you require isn’t available, please email studio@tonicagency.com.au

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I’VE SUBMITTED A WEDDING ENQUIRY?

 

Once we have received your enquiry, our booking team will personally hand select your artists and email you a proposal. Our proposal includes a deposit payment which is required to secure your booking. If you have any questions about your proposal prior to securing your booking, please email hello@tonicagency.com.au. From here, once a deposit is paid, you will receive your confirmation email. Four weeks prior to your booking date, we will reach out to confirm the exact location and timing of your booking. Lastly, 10 days before your event date,  we will send through a final confirmation email which will include all your booking details, a schedule and final payment due which will involve your artist payment details. 

DO I NEED A CERTAIN NUMBER OF PEOPLE FOR MY BOOKING?

 

Most of our artists have a minimum call out of 3-4+ services. If you require below this minimum, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your booking.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

 

Our artists have a range of different specialities, expertise, and years of experience. The cost of services is based on each individual artist. As a guide, our artist rates start at $135 per service, and go up to $200+ for senior artists. 

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL FEES?

  • All parking expenses are to be covered. Where available, valet is required.

  • Travel fees apply for locations further than 20km from Melbourne Metro areas

  • Early fees apply for bookings starting before 6.30am

  • Bookings on public holidays may incur a surcharge

  • Travel fees may apply if an artist is traveling to you for a trial

  • For any Sydney bookings, a $50 call out fee per artist is applicable to any bookings within 20kms of the CBD
     

WHEN SHOULD I HAVE A TRIAL?

When you submit your enquiry, we will send a proposal, and you can pay a deposit to secure your booking. This proposal will include a trial. You can book your trial 2-3 months in advance during off-peak season (winter), or 3-6 months during peak season (spring/summer). Please understand artists may not have availability for trials on weekends during summer due to their busy wedding schedules. 

If you would prefer to have a trial before paying your wedding deposit, we can place your booking on hold for 6 weeks whilst you reach out to your artist to arrange a trial. Once booked, we will send you a deposit invoice + GST to secure the trial appointment.

PLEASE NOTE: We recommend booking this as soon as possible as booking a trial does not secure your wedding date. A wedding date will only be confirmed once your wedding deposit has been paid. WHAT'S INVOLVED IN A TRIAL?

We encourage our brides to have a trial to meet their stylist and try out their look before the big day. This gives both the artist and bride the chance to workshop what will be done on the day, so we can create an easy and calm atmosphere on your wedding day. Trials can take place at either the artist's home studio, our Tonic studio or at clients' houses, depending on the artist who will be servicing you. A trial usually involves 1 look, however if you may want to trial more than 1 look, please discuss this with us or your artist before the trial.

Trial services may be charged at a higher rate than the wedding day service, as additional time is spent at the trial.  

If you do not require a trial, that is absolutely fine, and you can rest assured that you are in good hands in any case. It's helpful for you to send your artist a few inspirational images of what you might like to do on the day.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO TONIC ARTISTS USE?

Our artists use a combination of the best products the industry has to offer, including Giorgio Armani, MAC, Nars, Stilla, Dior, Charlotte Tilbury, Hourglass, Benefit, Tarte and many more. Hair products include Kevin Murphy, Eleven Australia, White Sands and many other professional quality products. Our artists can cater to different skin types and sensitivities so if you have any specific needs or concerns regarding products, please let us know.

HOW DO I TIME THE HAIR AND MAKEUP ON THE DAY? WILL TONIC MAKE A SCHEDULE?

We are experts at creating a run sheet for your booking! We will reach out to you 4 weeks prior to your booking date to confirm the time everyone needs to be ready by. Once we have this information, we can create a schedule for you based on the number of services you have booked. If you are unsure what time you should be ready by, please let us know and we can assist you with this. 

 

WHAT TIME WE WILL WE START HAIR AND MAKEUP ON THE WEDDING DAY?

We work out our schedules based on how long each artist requires to work. Most artists take approximately 45 minutes to 1.5 hours per service. Some artists require more or less time, and we will work out the schedule for you based on your ‘ready by’ time.

WHEN IS MY FINAL PAYMENT DUE?

To secure your booking, a 25% Deposit + GST for all services is required. 

If you have booked a trial, your final payment due for your trial will be 10 days prior to your trial appointment. This cost will then be deducted from your Wedding Services.

Your Booking Services + Travel (if applicable) balance will then be due directly to your artist 10 days prior to your booking date. You will be sent an email which will include the final amount and your artist payment details. 

WHY IS GST APPLIED TO MY BOOKING?

As we are a unique agency that represents a team of over 40+ artists, our booking system can be a little different to usual. Rather than providing an invoice, we personalize a proposal for each enquiry we receive and require a 25% + GST deposit to confirm your artists. The GST component is applied to your deposit payment only and not to your final balance due to your artist.
